Mentor Program

The mentor program is designed to prepare the student for the transition from academia to professional life, help foreign students to adapt to their new environment, provide training, and tutoring for students who are experiencing difficulties in adapting to the educational system in United States, and career counseling for women and youth.

The student in consultation with a mentor selects a firm that is suitable for his/her personal growth and the mentor then identifies a person in the firm who then provides direction and opportunity for the student to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to advance in his/her chosen career.

This program requires a strong commitment with a minimum of three hours per month. The student is required to attend the monthly meeting organized by ACODI and submit a monthly progress report to the Mentor Program Director (MPD).  The MPD is required to monitor the students performance at the firm; observe the student at work; attend the student's classroom presentation; review the student's resume; conduct mock interview with the student, and evaluate the student's portfolio.
