African Community Development Institute (ACODI) is a dynamic
institute that promotes education, health, and small
business enterprises to foster human development in Africa and the Diaspora. ACODI organizes conferences, seminars and workshops to sensitize the community for economic and social development by: Mobilizing women and men through educational activities and scholarly exchange programs to share information and design ways and means of improving the educational systems in Africa and the Diaspora. Identifying and promoting business management activities especially for women through training in developing small business enterprises. Establishing Institute for Women Studies with a focus on researching and chronicling African women’s history, artwork, and achievements in contributing to economic, social and political development. While examining the complex issues surrounding the status of women in the society, ACODI emphasizes the compelling ways women have reshaped the culture and managed economic realities in Africa and the Diaspora. In addition, ACODI is working to create a nexus between African Women and other women of the Diaspora while developing a mentoring/volunteering/ support programs for women and youths. The institute brings together individuals, organizations, universities, and international aid agencies that support women’s development to design and implement actions that improve the quality of life of women, girls and youths. By mobilizing youths to participate in mentoring and volunteering in their schools and communities, ACODI hopes to develop youth leadership skills. ACODI is a 501(C) 3 organization.
